My name is Jessica Lehry Bishop and I’m The Budget Savvy Bride! I started this blog back in spring of 2008, shortly after my then-boyfriend popped the big question. When I was planning our wedding, there weren’t many of resources out there for brides with a limited budget. I decided to keep a journal of my budget savvy wedding planning here on this blog, but little did I know how useful my experiences, ideas and tips would be to so many other budget brides!

Since getting married in May 2009, I’ve continued sharing tips and tricks for how to save money on your big day with the help of our guest bride bloggers. We love to feature real budget weddings that show that it is possible to have a beautiful wedding no matter your budget! Our goal is to be a valuable resource for brides looking to have a fabulous wedding without breaking the bank!

I currently live in Nashville, TN with my husband Eric, and our pets: Steve Perry the orange tabby cat and our adorable pups, Knox & Zooey! I am a graphic designer and Stella & Dot independent stylist! I’ve got a deep love for stationery, office supplies, organizational items, musicals, cheese, red wine, and New York City. When I’m not styling, blogging, designing, tweeting or sleeping… I enjoy reading fiction meant for teenage girls, taking excessive amounts of photos on Instagram (usually of my dogs), trying new foods or restaurants, traveling and learning new things.

Hi, I just found your blog today, but couldn’t find any contact details for you. I noticed in your stationary post that you were looking at getting a desk embosser. I found one recently at paper-source.com for $28.50 http://www.paper-source.com/cgi-bin/paper/4207500000.html?cm_id=2770.010
You can get it in a round shape and also square from what I understand – there’s also a how-to video to look at.

    Best wishes :)

  2. Your blog is great!!!

Congrats on the wedding! I just got over mine on July 12th. Sounds like we have a lot in common (Likes to be creative 24/7), so I think you’ll find the following sites very helpful…www.save-on-crafts.com (Tons of craft stuff and ideas, cheaper than in stores. My orders were perfectly shipped to me and quickly.), http://www.nashvillewraps.com (Good for ribbon, bags, and I had a candy dessert bar, so I got the clear Chinese take out boxes (VERY cute!), and also try http://www.midwestbottles.com (Good for ribbon).

Good Luck and e-mail me if you need more help!

    Sincerly,
    Erika

Just found your blog – love it! I’m a Knoxville bride planning an out of town wedding on a not-so-awesome budget, too! However, unlike you, I’m not crafty at all so I hope to find some inspiration in your blog!

Hi!! I saw you had some Nashville sites on your site. Are you getting married there? I’m getting married next May (So Far Away) but we are doing it in Nashville.

  5. We would love to be a part your blog. You have a great idea here. As a company we truly do understand what brides are going through with their budgets. Especially with this economy. We are running promotions all the time here in Los Angeles to help those brides you can afford the expensive DJs photographers etc…..

Great blog. I’m just starting a wedding dress and accessories business catering to the bride on a tight budget. I’m in Franklin, just south of Nashville. While planning my daughter’s wedding, it became apparent to me that brides needed options and someone who was understanding. After working with my daughter on a budget that was constantly under revision, I knew I had found something for which I had passion for and would put a smile on my face every day…there’s nothing like seeing a bride find “the dress”! http://abridesbigday.wordpress.com

  6. ‘Hi budget Savvy bride!!! I just started my own bride blog as well and I’m new to this whole thing but I love reading your blog! How do you add the blogs that you love to your site? Mine is weddingonahalfdime.blogspot.com and I want to add you to mine but I don’t know how? Can you help?’

  7. Hi – found your blog today. You’re looking for wedding help/tips? May I offer http://www.placeseveryone.com? It’s a great way (if I say so myself) to help you plan the seating arrangements.

Take a look – we’d love to know what you think!

    Hi There,

I love your blog. Were you considering selling any of your items from you wedding? If so, I would be interested in purchasing some of your decorations. Thanks!

  8. How much do you charge to design a cloudle thing like you did for your save the date?

    • Been following your twitter updates. Maybe one of these days I’ll make your preferred photographers list ;) . Keep up the good work!

  9. Hi! You sent me a direct message on Twitter (theModernGirl), but for some reason it won’t let me send one back! :(

I found you through someone else’s twitter feed and I thought your blog was fun :)

I own a wedding stationery company and have a wedding blog too: http://www.moderngirlinvitations.com/modernbrideguide

Would you consider adding it to your Wedding blogroll?

    Best wishes! :) Autumn

  10. Jessica:

    Hope you are well.

Wondered if you could connect me with any interested brides in the Nashville/Middle Tennessee area who have already married and are interested in being featured in the Tennessean’s Wedding of the Week section?

  11. Great blog! Memorable, beautiful weddings can be done very inexpensively. I shot 25 weddings last year, and my favorites were two DIY weddings that were truly beautiful and just a lot of fun. One was a barn wedding with a ride out to the ceremony site on wagons pulled by horses. The other a front yard wedding (a really nice house doesn’t hurt!) out on the driveway and front lawn. Both of these gals and their families put a lot of time into their weddings, but the results were just beautiful. I will remember these two wedding for as long a I live. From a photographers viewpoint, they were a true joy and pleasure to shoot!
