Sorry that I have been missing in budget savvy action!
On October 25th, my mother had a big stroke. Thankfully, she was already in the hospital when she had the stroke so she was able to be treated almost immediately, but there was a long road ahead. She spent a week in the hospital, and then went to a rehabilitation hospital for two weeks following that (my life went hospital, work, hospital, sleep, repeat for that time). She is now home, but the work is not over yet, she has outpatient therapy for the next couple of months. She is getting better everyday. We are all so PROUD of the progress she is making!
My sister, me, and my FABULOUS mother last summer
Needless to say, wedding plans were put on hold for a little bit. My mother is an awesome interior designer and there is nothing that she likes better than talking about, planning, making and shopping for pretty things, so we are back in the swing of things!
Having something like this happen in the middle of my engagement, really makes it that much more memorable. I am definitely more thankful for everyone in my life than I was just a couple of months ago. Weddings are all about the people that can share your special day with you, not about how much money you can spend or how bridezilla a girl can be (not that I had that idea to begin with, but just saying).
