helping brides create beautiful weddings without breaking the bank

I’m sorry for the lack of posting related to my actual wedding lately. I want you all to know that obviously this blog isn’t my full time job- I have a life other than my blog- although I can see with how time-consuming it is to maintain my blog how it COULD be a full time job if I got paid to do it. :)

ALOT has been happening in my life as of late besides my upcoming wedding and it’s hindered me from being able to keep on top of the blogging. Between the tornado destroying half our neighborhood and family stuff that’s happened over the last week or so it’s just alot to take in, deal with, and process.

My younger sister has had two seizures in the last 3 weeks and had to be rushed to the hospital last Friday.

I’ve been working on alot of freelance work so I can be caught up before I go on my honeymoon.

Yesterday our whole family from Florida to New York rejoiced over a cousin of mine coming back into our lives after her father kept her from us for nearly 10 years. It’s a long and complicated story but we are so overjoyed to have her back in our lives and we are frantically trying to find a way to bring her up for the wedding so that we can all see her for the first time in so long.

Over the weekend I also realized that my car actually did have some major damage from the tornado- the rear passenger side of my roof is caved in from being hit by debris. Since I’m so short and never get in on that side of my car, I never even saw it until Saturday! My car’s kind of old and since the paint is bubbled and my roof is now rusting over since it’s been exposed to rain- there’s a good chance my car is going to need major repairs which might exceed the value of my car, in which case I dunno what I’m going to do.

It’s ALOT for me to deal with right now. In addition to the wedding stress these other factors in my life have pretty much had me on an emotional rollercoaster for the last month. From ‘wow- I’m so thankful to be alive!’ to being so worried and concerned for my sister, to getting to assist Evin on some wedding shoots which has been amazing! to finding out one of my mom’s best friends has breast cancer, to speaking to my cousin on the phone last night for the first time in nearly a decade when we never knew if we’d hear from her again. WOW- God has been up to alot in my life. I am not complaining or giving excuses- this is my life and part of my journey and I want to share it with you.

If it weren’t for the many corporate emails I get asking me to host contests, I wouldn’t have any content to put up on the blog because things are just THAT crazy at the moment. Plus, I like to share the opportunity for you to get some freebie action- nothing is more budget-savvy than free. :) I want you to know I don’t make any money off my blog– and none of the contests I’ve posted have given me any compensation for doing so- I am thankful that I’ve been getting so many emails from these companies so that I at least have SOMETHING to post on the blog for you, even if I don’t have time to write about my personal experience at the moment.

I really do love blogging and I enjoy sharing my process with you all. I love every comment, email, tweet, and facebook message I get from you, my blog friends. I already feel guilty when I don’t have a post to share with you each day of the week- but please understand that there is ALOT going on in my life. Trust me, if you continue to follow along I will get you what you’re looking for- the recap pics, my cost breakdown and general advice from my experience- it’s all gonna be worth it if you can hang tight until my wedding is over. :) I appreciate that you are invested in what I have to say and share with you, that means alot to me that you look to me for inspiration. I’m honored and blessed to have so many of you who come back to read my inane ramblings about my wedding craziness. Thanks for following- and stay tuned- the best is yet to come. :)

I hope things start settling down for you. I’ll be keeping your sister and yourself in my thoughts and prayers. I can’t even imagine how scary it has to be to see her going through a seizure. Hang in there and as you said, the best is still to come!
