helping brides create beautiful weddings without breaking the bank

For as long as I can remember I have loooooved flowers. Growing up I would plant and tend to the flowers around our yard. But my favorite part is arranging flowers. So after I got engaged and began the wedding planning process, I decided that I wanted to do my own flowers. Centerpieces, bouquets, boutonierres, the whole shebang! Now I know what you all are thinking, and no I am not crazy. I have already secured the assistance of my crafty mother and aunt, and I really think this will be a fun thing for us to all do together.

My favorite flowers are blue hydrangeas, the more periwinkle variety. Those will be my jumping off point, I plan to mix in some blue delphinium and some green flowers to be determined.

I have been scouring the floral supply stores in my area and other online resources, I am going to do a dry run through to figure out how many of each type of flower I will need, what other materials I will need to create said floral object, and how long they each take.

Here are some of my ideas and inspiration:

I love this pedestal urn and the sweet peas look great with the hydrangeas and delphinium!

I hope to have the bouquets look  a little something like this:

I have been hunting for fun blue and white Chinese vases, but have not been as successful as I hoped.

Look for Part 2 coming soon, with my own arrangements!

All very beautiful! I, too, love flower arranging, but chose to go the non-floral route to simplify preparations. Try looking for garden pots if you want shorter blue and white vases. Might be worth a shot, anyway.

  • Good for you, Anne! 🙂 I'm sure everything will turn out great.

  • I did my own wedding centerpieces too! So worth it! You'll love them! http://lindseyandseth.blogspot.com/2011/01/make-y
