I attended college with Emily and met her through my friends, K & T. Last weekend Emily came to Nashville with her fiancé Daniel and we joined them all for dinner. Emily and Daniel were recently engaged and so I asked for details of the proposal, because who doesn’t love a proposal story? I thought this one was really sweet, and when I found out there were photos of this event I couldn’t wait to see them. All photos by John Shim.

Emily and Daniel met at an ultimate frisbee club and got to know each other through their mutual love for outdoorsy activities. So when Daniel decided to propose to Emily, he knew he wanted to do it outside, in nature, where he felt most comfortable. Daniel surprised Emily that day with her very own mountain bike (she’d been borrowing his everytime they went riding up until that point.) Then they embarked on a (rather treacherous, according to Emily) bike ride down some trails where Emily says she fell off the trail and down the side of a hill. After Daniel rescued her, he excused himself to go “use the bathroom” in the woods, saying he would call for her when he was decent. After falling down and being all sweaty from riding bikes all day, the last thing on Emily’s mind was romance- little did she know what was in store for her. When Daniel called for her to join him in the woods, she rode up and saw this sign made with bike reflectors:

Seriously, how sweet is this?!

And there was Daniel, down on one knee.

He’d asked a photographer to wait there to capture the moment- I think it is the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen!

You can also sync your photos directly with facebook for easy sharing with all your friends. I love finding new and innovative ways to connect with friends and this is just great! I hope you will take advantage of this service… I know I’m going to ! Even though my wedding was almost 3 months ago I never collected all the photos that friends took. Now I can! Sorry I didn’t have much in terms of content this week- been collecting info and images for the upcoming BS-WOW features, as well as preparing for the event I’m speaking at tonight!
