Wedding ipod playlist
The Budget Savvy Bride
Dun dun dunnnnnn. That was supposed to be a dramatic sound effect after I revealed our music source for our wedding, however sound effects aren’t properly portrayed via text. That’s right, the fiance and I have opted for an iPod wedding, complete with a laborious playlist. Luckily for us, our venue offers a ready made sound system just waiting to be connected to my ipod, so we could hardly pass up the opportunity to be frugal. After I saw the included sound system I started making a mental playlist in my head, which I later transferred from my brain to my iPod.
One day during my daily wedding blog perusing I happened across this incredibly helpful article. I ended up taking quite a few pieces of advice from this entry. I broke my playlists down into sections; Ceremony, Cocktail Hour, Dinner, and Dancing. Breaking up the playlists made the task of preparing them less daunting and way more organized. I searched around the internet for new and fun wedding playlists that didn’t include “Kung Fu Fighting” [sorry, not my thing!]. Because I am an internet ninja I found this AMAZING article that provides 175 unique, fun and upbeat wedding song suggestions! I immediately got my downloading pants on, and tore through the list.
We are now down to crunch time in the timeline of our wedding, so we really should have all the music figured out by now, however we aren’t perfect. I will provide you with a sampling of our playlists!Ceremony:
Processional: Something by Vitamin String Quartet, they are amazing!
Recessional: “You Are The Best Thing” – Ray LaMontagneCocktail Hour:
Your Love Gets Sweeter” – Finley Quaye
Sweet Darlin’” – She & Him
You and I” – Ingrid Michaelson
All I Do Is Dream of You” – Michael Buble

Dinner:
This is actually to be determined, because I cannot decide what to do! I can’t decide if we should stick solely to instrumentals, or even just one artist? We will see!

Dancing:
Your Easy Lovin’ Ain’t Pleasin’ Nothin’” – Mayer Hawthorne
Signed, Sealed, Delivered” – Stevie Wonder
The Way You Look Tonight” – Maroon5
Heart Attack” – Raphael Saadiq

There it is! A smattering of styles that I’m hoping come together nicely. We’ve convinced one of our dear friends to be the MC and man the iPod, so we’re hoping all goes smoothly.
Anyone else opting for an iPod wedding?

I'm doing a lot of my ceremony/dinner music from Vitamin String Quartet! I love them too!
