helping brides create beautiful weddings without breaking the bank

What's not to love about this beautiful wedding? Ross and Erica's unusual combination of blue and purple with bright pops of color is perfect for their outdoor setting. The mismatched bridesmaids' dresses are absolutely darling. Although every detail of the reception is stunning, I'm particularly smitten with their cake table; make sure you check it out! Enjoy today's blue and purple outdoor wedding! xoxo, Jessica

Our budget was $16,000

Catering: $3,800

Rentals: $2,000

Venue: $2,800

Attire: $2,500

Photographer: $2,100

Band: $1,300

Décor: $1,500

How many guests did you have?

We had 120 guests.

What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?

All the details of our wedding were creative expressions of who we are and what we love! By repurposing thrift store finds and incorporating natural elements such geodes and biodegradable plates and silverware, we were able to express our love for nature and everything vintage. Doing it ourselves allowed us to add our personal touches to every detail.

What was the biggest thing you did to save money?

We saved a lot of money by selecting a venue that would allow us to work with our own vendors and we did as much DIY as we could!

What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?

Find a good photographer!!! Stay organized and give yourself plenty of time if you are planning to DIY.

What was your biggest splurge?

Our biggest splurge was on our photographer! We knew we wanted our photos to capture all the details and magic of the day so having one of the best photographers we could find was very important.

What was your favorite detail?

Our favorite detail had to be the venue. We love the feeling the Solarium has, being right in the middle of town yet feeling worlds away really gave our wedding a unique feeling.

What is the most memorable moment of your day?

The ceremony. The feeling we got when we saw each other for the first time and realized that all our loved ones had come together was truly magical! Also we couldn’t have been happier with how the altar turned out!
