I’d like to thank BSB for welcoming me into the blogging circle. I must admit, I’m new to the blogging world and having never blogged before it’s quite the honor to be asked to be a regular contributor and share ideas with other brides-to-be! What a way to jump head first into something, contributing to one of the top wedding sites out there!
I’m a self proclaimed “Borderline Extreme Couponer” and can’t wait to share some of the finds I’ve come across with readers. With that being said, I’m not one of those 100+ boxes of cereal in my basement type of couponers, but I know how to keep an eye out for a deal. I’ve been able to snag anything from Save the Dates, to personalized Thank You cards, to engraved key chains with my soon to be last name and even a year subscription to ‘Bridal Guide Magazine’ all for either free or next to nothing!
While I may cut corners with costs on some items my fiancé and I do plan on splurging in other areas. Overall we’re budgeting roughly $20,000 for our big day that’s taking place in May 2014. We’ll be holding the ceremony at the church we both attended while growing up and we’ve reserved Michigan’s oldest winery to hold the reception.
As for a little background about ourselves, I’m an engineer and my fiancé is a Corporate Technical Trainer in the IT field. We met on Match.com and became engaged after dating for a year and a half. Nick, my fiancé, popped the question outside of Cinderella’s Castle in Disney World. As a runner, we had traveled down to Florida in February to run in the Disney Princess Half Marathon. Nick handed me a coin while we were standing next to the Wishing Well. The reverse side of the coin read, “Dana, Will you live happily ever after with me?” Obviously I wouldn’t be asked to blog if I hadn’t said, “Yes!”
I can’t wait to share my experiences with all of you!
