helping brides create beautiful weddings without breaking the bank

It has become increasingly apparent that one set of hands is not enough over here at BSB. I am looking for a couple of college students who are in need of internship credit to teach the in’s and out’s of a daily wedding blog. You will receive hands-on experience in a few different aspects of running a blog. I am looking for interns in two different areas- editorial features and advertising.

Our ideal editorial features intern:

– is obsessed with weddings!
– is familiar with the wedding blog community
– has their own computer and reliable internet access
– has excellent written and verbal communication skills
– proficient in WordPress platform
– skills in Photoshop, inDesign are a plus!

What you’ll be doing:

– Laying out and coding posts
– Reviewing featured wedding submissions, working with the editor to choose features, and collecting info from brides for publication
– Working with editor to create editorial calendar, doing research for upcoming posts
– organizing giveaways and contests with vendors
– some blog maintenance and updates – categorizing posts, updating plugins, etc.
– giving input into the redesign of the site to take place this summer

Our ideal advertising intern:

– is obsessed with weddings!
– is familiar with the wedding blog community
– has their own computer and reliable internet access
– proficient in WordPress platform
– has excellent written and verbal communication skills

What you’ll be doing:

– work with editor on media kit, promotional materials
– reach out to potential sponsors for advertising or feature on the site
– coordinating receipt of advertising materials
– drafting and scheduling sponsor intro posts
– work with editor to place ads on the site

If you are in Nashville, we can meet weekly for meetings, but you can definitely work remotely so being a Nashvillian is not mandatory. We can keep in touch via email and skype with your duties for the week. The internship will only take about 10 hours a week, give or take, depending on the weekly schedule.

Please email your resume, any work samples, and why you think you’d be a great fit for BSB to jessica{at}thebudgetsavvybride.com with BSB INTERN in the subject. Thanks!! :)
