I’m excited to share this sweet, intimate wedding of the fabulous blogger Jen Ramos of MadeByGirl. Jen has awesome style and is a fab designer and her wedding reflected who she is. She saved money by keeping her guest list small and was able to include some lovely details because of it. Don’t you just love her dress? She definitely freed up room in her budget by buying a non-traditional wedding dress from Neiman Marcus! Hope you enjoy this wedding as much as I do!
What was your budget?
$5,000
Number of guests:
30
What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?
We added several creative aspects, like the personalized mini chocolates, the madebygirl wedding print with our names on it as well as guests names on the leaves of each apple…
What was the biggest thing you did to save money?
I decided NOT to spend too much on my dress, being that i was only going to wear in for one day (actually for a few hours). I bought a Calvin Klein dress online for $200 from Neiman Marcus & I loved it!
What's the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you're on the other side?
Dont over spend and over stress. I also recommend trying to do a lot of the smaller items yourselves. I think doing things with your husband actually brings you closer together. If your guy is hesitant to help out, offer him a massage in return….or ask your family member to pitch in. This DIY will save you a ton of money!
What was your biggest splurge?
On our photographer!
What was your favorite detail?
The table set up….the vivid green color of the wheat grass and the beautiful centerpieces!
What is the most memorable moment of your day?
When everyone stood up to speak and address us (the bride and groom). I also loved the long limo ride with my husband!

I love the strawberries tucked in the word Love and the paper detail sign with their names. This is a perfect inspiration board for the bride who thinks a dreamy wedding cannot be done on a budget. Also, I think it is important to note how many guests were invited. 30. Reduce your guest list to those you REALLY want to party and to celebrate with you and spend your money on the little precious details.
That cupcake is beautiful! It seems like an elegant, fun wedding.
Lively wedding! I absolutely LOVED all the small special touches ESPECIALLY her fruit favors: http://bit.ly/blSSb1<-inexpensive & eco-conscious!!

So beautiful and budget friendly, you wouldn't even know! Thx for sharing!
so adorable… I love small weddings like that!
I love the chocolate covered strawberries in the love trays! I'd love to steal that idea, I'm just not sure if I can do a chocolate display for a summer wedding.
i was surprised to see that Jen used a small budget on her wedding (i follow her BLOG and she has so many great things in her home) …but i feel inspired. Splurging on the photographer is the best idea!!!
