  1. i’m sure your dad will be fine- i will keep him in my thoughts! on the centerpiece topic, i am also trying to think of some cheapie things to put on the cocktail tables. i like the idea of filling a glass urn with lemons or fruit like in the picture, but am having a winter wedding and am trying to think of something ‘wintery’ to do instead. i know pinecones is an option, but honestly, i hate pinecones. i’m thinking pomegranates, but i don’t know how pricey they are. one more thing – i’m using curly willow as a centerpiece for the reception so I don’t have to pay for flowers at all and it’s saving me a bundle. Just put it in a tall vase with ribbons hanging from the branches. You might want to look into it. :)

  2. This looks great. I love your color palette, the yellow looks so energizing. My favorite idea is the wildflowers in wooden boxes.

e&e, what about cranberries in a glass vase filled with water? I’ve done it once as a centerpiece for a Christmas party, and it looked stunning! You can buy cranberries fresh or frozen for about 2$ a bag (even the frozen ones won’t “wilt” if you don’t set it up too far in advance). I don’t know what your colors are, but I’m thinking clementines and cranberries would look beautifully fresh and seasonal.

  3. Some ideas for your cheap wedding centerpieces:

Stack your favor boxes as a display on each of your tables.

Frame a photograph of you both on each table with a note thanking your guests for sharing your special day.

    Frame a love poem.

Have a big gift box filled with goodies for your wedding guests to play with – little table top games, lego etc always gets your guests chatting.

Collect vintage glass in the greens to use as a display with candles for your centerpiece.

Hope your dad is getting over his operation.

    Good luck with your plans

    Suz

  4. Greta ideas. I like the idea of making the paper flowers instead of silk or real flowers. How creative is that!!!!
