I’m not going to lie. I’ve already splurged on my hair for the wedding. Not only am I paying for my stylist to come to my hotel on the big day, but I’m also coughing up $75 for a hair and makeup trial this month. Salon services can add up—especially if you’re making your stylist travel. I’m here to suggest not to add up any additional frivolous costs by purchasing various hair accessories!
Some brides traditionally choose cathedral or fingertip veils, others opt for a more vintage birdcage look. Some brides throw some flowers in their hair, others try for a sparkly headband. If you’re going for a more modern or non-traditional look, browsing ETSY for options can prove to be expensive. From $30 to a flower for your hair to upwards of $200 for a beaded headband, tacking that on to an already bursting salon budget can be counterproductive.
Did you know that “birdcage” is in? And, not just for brides? A quick trip to your local Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe can show headbands with birdcage pieces and even flowers with some netting. While I fully support independent businesses and artists, sometimes my budget can’t. Here are some fun hair pieces from (a frugal fashionista’s favorite) Forever 21 that won’t break the bank.
Beaded Applique Headband | $7.80
Rhinestone Accented Flower Headwrap | $3.80
Floral Hair Pins w/ Faux Pearl and Stone | $2.50
Large Rosette Hair Piece | $6.80
Chiffon Floral Hair Clip | $5.80
*I saw something nearly identical to this for $30 on ETSY!
Chiffon Flower Headband | $2.80
Sure, the rhinestones aren’t real and the pearls are clearly faux, but these pieces are in your hair. No one will be inspecting them and they will be just as beautiful in your photos as the real deal. And, if you are working with a talented stylist, hair accessories might not even be needed! Good luck getting glam – I’d love to hear how you’re doing your hair!
