Where did you get married?
Green Ridge Church of Christ, Greenbrier, TN(the same church my parents were married in 30yrs ago) Reception at the Center in Springfield, TN
What was your budget?
$7,500
What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?
We got engaged on June 17th, 2009 we had just over 100 days until W-Day (as I called it) I decided I would start a blog to show every high, and low of the planning process, and to prove that I could pull this off on a minimal budget in just 100 days! I have been blown away by the response the blog has gotten. http://100daywedding.blogspot.com/
What was the biggest thing you did to save money?
My Cousin did my Flowers for $400!!! She used to work for a florist and bought all my flowers at whole sale (including Calla Lilies, and Green Hydrangea’s) and did them as a wedding gift to us! USE PEOPLE YOU KNOW!
What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?
Be resourceful and don’t be afraid to shop around for the best deal. Use people you know to help you pull of your big day. Ask Vendor’s about specials, our photographer was giving a 40% off Recession Special!!! Rely on your good instincts and once you make a decision move on, don’t dwell or second guess it! Also, print as many Michael”s 50% off coupons you can get your hands on, this will save you tons of $$ If you are a DIY Bride!
What was your biggest splurge?
My Dress, but I had to have it!!!! I found on-line at at Bridal Warehouse and just knew it was the one. I had budgeted $500 for the dress and it cost $800 so not a huge splurge but a splurge for a frugal bride!
What was your favorite detail?
My Bouquet was a combination of White Calla Lilies and Green Hydrangea”s, but wrapped around it was lace from my mothers wedding dress and a melted nugget of my grandparents wedding bands. It was very special having those incorporated in the little details.
What is the most memorable moment of your day?
By far the best part of the day was marrying my best friend, but the memory that sticks out the most was when the bagpiper started to play Highland Cathedral, I started to cry like a baby, and my dad looked at me and said “are you going to make it?” I said “I am not sure” bagpipes are so emotional, and there wasn”t a dry eye in the house as I came down the aisle.

Those chandeliers in the church are amazing. And that parachute with the fairy lights above the dance floor – WOW! Love her dress too. Bargain!
Amber – If you’re reading this, if you don’t mind me asking, how much did you budget for your hair and makeup?
Such a great looking wedding for only $7500! In this day and age – very penny counts. I also tend to favor DIY weddings over the typical ones that you go to at most catering halls. Great job!
Nicole, I have the advantage of having a mother who is a cosmetologist so we played with my hair A LOT, I Budget around $100 for hair and make-up but came out WAY Ahead, a family friend did it for $25, and one of my bridesmaid’s did my make-up and lashes.
Awesome wedding!!!The couple is cute and i guess there is nothing which is missed out in the wedding. The veil of the bride is adding to her beauty:)
Where did you get the parachute that went over the ceiling? I absolutely love that!
