{Guest Post} Decorative ideas for your bridal shower | The Budget Savvy Bride
The Budget Savvy Bride

Well, here you are. You’ve finally decided to take the big step and get married to the love of your life. Your wedding ceremony will be one of the biggest events of your lifetime. The excitement you’re feeling is bubbling up and overflowing onto others. Your enthusiasm is contagious, most likely resulting in someone very near and dear to your heart offering to plan or host a bridal shower for you. They’ll want your opinions because, after all, it’s in your honor. Here are some decorative ideas to make your bridal shower something special.

Ceiling décor

Brighten up any room with fun and exciting decorations, especially those that will catch guests’ eyes when they look up. A brilliant idea many brides-to-be find remarkable is a piñata that replicates a diamond. Since so many women love glitz and glitter, what could be more perfect? If that’s not your style, try crepe streamers in colors you adore, especially those that complement your wedding colors. Let them dip from the ceiling in pleats to create a spectacular decorative view from anywhere in the room.

Table design

Choose a theme of your liking or create a table that radiates elegance in ivories, crisp whites or silver. If you like bold and brilliant colors, go for lime green, brilliant orange or sassy red decorations. If you like a softer touch, choose from light pinks, lavender, baby blue or pale yellow. Floral arrangements for the table can be as simple or as extravagant as you like. Consider bold sunflowers in a tall vase or small bunches of carnations in a simple glass container.

The decorations don’t just stop at the table. You’ll want everyone to be sitting pretty on your special day. Drape chair covers over standard folding chairs, tie bows to the backs of garden chairs or drape high-backed bar stools with fabric. Consider purchasing a special chair for the bride, which can sit in her bedroom or other part of the house for years following the wedding. No matter your venue, a little flair can transform your surroundings into something really special.

Decorative foods

Your loved ones will obviously be excited to attend your shower, but even more pleased when presented with irresistible tasty treats. Finger foods like cucumber sandwiches, crudités or bleu-cheese-and-pear tartlets are all great choices. Cake pops are easy to make, delicious and can be decorated in solid colors, marble designs or swirls, any of which will delight guests who will enjoy the small but sweet dessert. A special treat like soft and fluffy cotton candy on a decorative stick is a great choice as well and can turn a group of adults into kids for a fun afternoon.

After the party is over, happy memories will remain of your celebration with family and friends that will mark an unforgettable time in your life. From chair rental to hanging streamers, it may take some work to create the perfect party, but it will be worth every ounce of effort you put in to it.
