Hello! Welcome! Nice to see ya! | The Budget Savvy Bride
The Budget Savvy Bride

Welcome to my little corner of the interweb… at this point we could call it the interWED. Seriously, there are so many wedding blogs out there it is unreal! So why, do you ask, would you want to read mine? Well, I’m not certain that you will, but I find that blogging is a great way to keep my ideas and inspiration close at hand. So even if no one cares about my inane ramblings about aqua versus robin’s egg blue, it helps me feel that I am somewhat organized and gives me a place to come back and revisit ideas so I don’t forget them! If you find me mildly entertaining, you’re welcome to come along for the ride! :)

So, if you’re still reading I guess I’ve piqued your interest. Let me start from the beginning. I’ll tell you a little about myself. I’m a 24 year old graphic designer- read: an artsy fartsy person who loves crafts, photography, and DiY projects. I see everything around me as a source of inspiration- from a pattern on wallpaper to a rotting tree branch- pretty much anything can spark me to want to create. I’m interested to see what strikes me in terms of wedding stuff! I’m a kind of jokingly-sarcastic person who just tries to see the humor in every situation. I’m a big planner and I am not a huge fan of surprises, but I am a master procrastinator. This could spell disaster when it comes to the wedding. When I’m not working I’m hanging out with my amazing fiance and our adorable cat, Steve Perry. Yes that’s right. My cat is named Steve Perry, as in the lead singer of Journey. What of it?

As far as the wedding planning goes, there’s just one hitch- and that would be the budget. My folks are getting prepared to send my next sibling to college- a pricey affair, as I’m sure you all know. And basically, they weren’t prepared for their eldest (that would be yours truly) to go off and get engaged. So, generously, they have offered to help with whatever they can but I think for the most part the fiance and I will have to cover much of the expense. The thing is, this is supposed to be the most imporant day of our lives- we obviously want it to be awesome! The trick is throwing an awesome wedding on a not-so-awesome budget. And that my friends will be the focus of this blog- wedding chic on the cheap! So sit back, relax and enjoy my planning induced anxiety and insanity. It’s gonna be one hell of a ride! :)
