Oh my gosh… I am so sorry. It seams that this has been happening to so many of our friends this month. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

  1. OH NO! I am so sorry to hear that!! I keep telling myself that I’m thankful because so people in my life are being affected by the economy. I hate that this happened to you, too!!

  2. sorry to hear that!

As a graphic designer, though, you’ll have some options for freelance work. Check out some of the creative temp agencies for temp or temp-to-hire positions:

    www.creativegroup.com

good luck and remember to breathe when things get stressful. :)

  3. So sorry to hear that!

I’m sorry to hear that, too. I was laid off my from job (with several weeks notice), so my last day is 12/31. Happy freakin’ holidays, huh? Keep your head up and know that openings will start popping up come January.

  4. I’m so sorry to hear this! I know it has to be so hard… but know that I will be thinking of you. I myself am a graphic designer and I know that there is freelance work you could come upon!

  5. Oh man. So sorry to hear your news. I’m crossing my fingers and wishing you the very best.

I’m so sorry to hear the news. Maybe a few extra christmas cookies and some eggnog will ease the blow a bit?

What terrible timing! :( That’s really awful news, but I wish you the best. I know you’ll come through this just fine! Plus, it’s a good thing you’re budget savvy at least, right?! :D

  7. I’m so sorry to hear that! I know you will figure something out…but what awful timing.

  8. I’m really sorry Jessica… Thinking of you.

  9. Oh man, that sucks. Well, luckily your profession does lend itself to freelance work, and graphic design is definitely not something that just anyone can do! Best of luck!

  10. I am so sorry! You’ll be fine though, you rock out the graphic design.

If you’re interested in some freelance work I might need some things done. :)

  11. I’m sure that you are a great graphic designer…
So when life gives you the pink slip…START A GRAPHIC DESIGN COMPANY!

oh no. i am so sorry to hear that.
i became a statistic too 3 weeks ago and last week did a blog post on it. my situation is slightly different than yours in that i….am not so sad that it happened – it was time for me to move on and i’m only looking at the positives. i’d like for you to try and see it that way too. it may be hard at first but you are truly talented and this could open up other opportunities for you that you didn’t even know existed – that you had maybe only considered in your deepest thoughts…no you can give them a try. you are an incredible graphic designer…maybe that’s something you can do freelance? i know your wedding is coming up so the financial situation for that will be tighter but you are so creative i’m sure everything will work out.

my thoughts are with you that you don’t stress too much. take a week or so and do nothing – wallow in it if you want. then pull your socks up and be your creative self!

  12. I will keep you in my thoughts. I am sure everything that will work out for you. Everything happens for a reason. It just means that something great is on the horizon for you.
