helping brides create beautiful weddings without breaking the bank

So as I’ve talked about before I’m in desperate need of a change in my mind, health and body! Which is why I am SO excited that I’m starting Operation Bootcamp on Monday!! I’m hoping to lose 20ish lbs in 3 months and I think this is JUST what I need to get me kick-started on my path to ultimate bridal hotness (and healthiness). :)

Operation Bootcamp isn’t just a workout routine- it’s a program to challenge every person involved on a daily basis. They even analyze your eating habits (which you are required to record in a diary) to tell you what you can do better. I’m really excited to start the program and am hoping to see some REAL results!

Have any of you joined a gym, gotten a trainer, seen a nutritionist or started another type of program to get you in shape for your big day?

I think your bootcamp trumps my yoga

YES! I have a trainer, whom I have nicknamed Colossus, and he has changed my life. I have blogged about him multiple times, and was recently asked to share some of my workout exercises. I did so here: http://domestigals.blogspot.com/2008/09/butt-busting-tips-from-blushing-bride.html

I was always a cardio person (running especially). But Colossus has totally turned me onto weight training. I have never looked or felt more kick-ass than I do now! It’s been amazing.

I’m also trying to eat much more protein and cut down on carbs (and alcohol. heh). The diet changes have made a huge difference too.

YAY hotness! Keep us posted on your boot camp!

While it was before I was engaged, I lost 55+ pounds about two years ago with http://www.sparkpeople.com – it’s a free site that helps you set goals, track calories in vs calories out and has a huge community of really supportive people. And I’m happy to say it works, and I’m the same size now that I was when I reached my goal, so happily I’ve not got any weight to lose before my big day (almost exactly a year away!). I really can’t recommend SparkPeople enough – it works and it’s brilliant.

Impressive. Best of luck. The best plan I ever had was when I was in Africa for a few years. Let’s just say some of the food there didn’t appeal to me. It was easy to drop some weight!

    Hi!

I came across your blog a few days ago. We’re a wedding planning company in Memphis, and we were looking at different blogs websites. You pretty much sold us on WordPress!

You have some of the cutest ideas and I can’t wait to see how your wedding turns out. I think you actually used a picture of a wedding that we did, but I’m not 100% positive. I wasn’t working here when they did the wedding, but I remember seeing the picture somewhere around here. Small world! =)

    Good luck with everything!

While it’s not for everyone, I’ve lost over 20 pounds since I started training for marathons. It’s a big time commitment, but other than that it’s not as hard as it sounds. You can’t possibly train for a marathon WITHOUT losing weight!

I’ve combined all the running with weight training 2 days a week, which makes me feel strong and solid. I also use http://www.calorieking.com to track my calories in and out – a VERY useful tool. You don’t realize how many calories you’re taking in until you track them.

It’s nice that I’ve lose most of the weight I want to lose early, so I won’t be freaking out about it as the wedding gets closer. You are smart to start now! Good luck:)

You are too cute! I live in GA and they offer the bootcamp here also. I’m totally signing up asap!

I have been following your blog for awhile now, and you actually inspired me to start my own blog! I’m loving it, and love getting ideas from your blog also!

Have fun at Martha, you’re so lucky!!

I also use sparkpeople.com … and i recently saw a post on the broke ass bride blog with some really good pointers, basically writing down what you eat, exercising! I’m really interested in how your boot camp goes, I know it can definitely kick start your metabolism and your motivation. Keep us posted… it may just get me motivated too :)
