{Katie} My Wedding "Look" | The Budget Savvy Bride
The Budget Savvy Bride

Good morning, Lovelies!

I hope you are all having absolutely fantastic weeks! I’m in crunch time at school (final exams are 3 weeks away! Eek!), so I’ve been running around basically like a chicken this week. It’s all good (:

That being said, I am super eager to start transitioning my life focus from school to wedding because I think there are just so many exciting things in store. Our wedding is going to be “based” on a couple of things. I don’t have the strictest theme or color palate, but we’re going to be working with mainly black and white with charcoal and dusty pink accents. It’s going to be vintage-y, but not too overwhelmingly vintage-y–more like 1940s inspired as opposed to HELLOOOOO RETRO! We also want it to be simple and sweet and sophisticated–easy peasy, right?

Haha. Right.

Visually speaking (can you speak visually?), this is what we’re going for*:

I’m planning on working on a large part of the decor myself.  I’m not exactly on par with Martha Stewart, but I am definitely going to try my very best to bring to fruition all of these wonderful ideas I have bopping around in my mind! My goal is to just have a nice wedding. Not too flashy or blingy or trendy or anything–just simple, chic, and nice. I’m pretty sure that with the right amount of determination, planning, resolve, and best friends to help, I’ll be able to pull it off! (:

I also want to incorporate a few of the following elements because I think they’re suuuuuuuuper cute, so look for some DIY trials in the future. I’m not entirely sure how this is all going to fall into place together, but I still have a bit of time to pull of everything! I think.

As soon as I saw these two (above and below) centerpieces, I was pretty much in la-la-love. I think they’re absolutely fabulous.

I think I want to be quite monochromatic with my flowers, and I’m in mad
love with this bouquet (I think it goes well with the centerpieces above, too!)

If money allows, I really want to incorporate a photo booth,

…and I absolutely adore the idea of a vintage typewriter for a guestbook.

I really like the idea of incorporating old family wedding photos, as well (:

And that’s what I have for now! What do you think? Do you like it? I can’t wait to start working on all of the little details of everything!

Please have extraordinary days today!

XO,

*I sadly don’t have the sources for all of these pictures because I’ve been collecting them for months and months and months and I can’t quite re-track them down. Some of the pictures in the collage, though, can be found here: the dress, the cakepops, and the cake.

Hi Katie! Wow – I love your color scheme! It's so sophisticated – I wish I was allowed to have pink at my wedding :) And I definitely think that the high-contrast of the light pink with the darker colors will give you just the look you want!

    • Oh thank you, Jenna! At first Justin was completely against it, but after pairing it with black/gray/white, he's cool. He can now tell anyone the difference between mauve and dusty pink too! :)

  1. I like these all collections. I am super eager to start transitioning my life focus from school to wedding because I think there are just so many exciting things in store.
