Lesley's Wedding Inspiration | The Budget Savvy Bride
The Budget Savvy Bride

Hello lovelies!

I wanted to share with you some inspiration pictures that have been shaping my wedding planning thus far. My fiance and I decided quite early on that our wedding colors would be black, white, and gunmetal grey – not only because they’re fitting for our wintry December 31st wedding, but because THEY’RE TOTALLY RAD AND WE LOVE THEM! (Black, white, and grey are pretty much the only colors I wear. No joke. You should see my closet! And Nate rocks skinny black Levi’s and a white v-neck like nobody’s business.) But I also know that a color palette like this can feel cold, so we’re accenting it with off-whites and browns for warmth – think antique book pages, twine, and bare twigs. As an interior designer, the idea of the “80/20 rule” has always stuck with me – 80% of your decor should be one consistent feel, and 20% can be contrasting for emphasis. This keeps things visually interesting without having a bunch of different elements competing for your attention. In our case, the black and white rock n’ roll awesomeness will be 80% of the wedding, and the vintage warmth of off-whites and browns will be the contrasting 20%. Totally excellent? HECK YES!

I’ve been collecting these images over the past few months (and some of them have been kicking around my hard drive even longer), so forgive me for not having credit info for all of them. However, they’ve most likely come from the following stellar blogs: Decor8 , Design*Sponge , Ruffled , Snippet & Ink , Rock N’Roll Bride , Brooklyn Bride , f**kyeahcutehair , and of course, The Budget Savvy Bride . [And if any of these images are yours and have been mis-credited, please let me know at [email protected]]

Lesley! You just touched my heart right now. I swear I've had half of these EXACT images in the inspiration folder on my desktop for months. We're using pages of text and sheet music all over the place. I am actually in the middle of dying pages of sheet music with tea bags to use as paper flowers in the guys boutonnieres while reading BSB right now… I love this. Can't wait to see what you do with all of it and share some ideas :)

Jess – that's so exciting! Great minds think alike, no? ;) Book pages are a HUGE theme in the wedding, and I'm planning to use them all over the place! Looking forward to see what you're doing with 'em too. Can't wait to see more of your posts. Much love!

Love this! Keeping the 80/20 rule in mind from now on, too. Thanks!
