Running of the Bride Review

I meant to post an update on this last week but I finished reading Rachel Eddey’s humorous memoir Running of the Bride!

The publisher was kind enough to send me a copy to review. It was a quick, light read and I found myself giggling out loud quite a few times. Specifically during the parts where Rachel talks about attempting the master cleanse, because I was a crazy enough bride to do that, too! I enjoyed Rachel’s conversational tone and her self-deprecating humor– gotta love a woman who can laugh at herself and her faults. I’d like to think that she and I would TOTES be friends IRL. She reminds me of a little less foul-mouthed Jen Lancaster (whose books I LOVE!) By far my favorite quote from the book was:

“When people say their wedding is a blur, they’re lying.
Every moment is crystal-clear until the next, which replaces it.”

Because, seriously… it’s SO true. Overall I really enjoyed the book, it was a quick read and had a few laugh-out-loud moments. Plus, you get to read about her amazing proposal story where her now-hubby popped the question on the set of the Sex and the City movie. C’mon- how cool is that? I recommend this book to anyone who likes chick-lit, sarcasm, funny/embarrassing stories and of course brides!  You can order it on Amazon- go ahead, get a copy for yourself and another bride in your life!
