Sorry I didn’t have a post for you this morning… E and I were driving the 7 hour trek back from our visit to the Carolinas today and I forgot to schedule something ahead of time. I know it’s super lame…especially after all the wonderful comments and emails I got over the weekend regarding what I should do with this here blog… you guys are seriously awesome.
I definitely got misty-eyed over some of your messages! I can’t tell you how special it made me feel to read all your notes… I really feel like I’m being called to put time and effort into this blog and that’s great because I love doing it! I absolutely love hearing from all my readers- especially hearing how I’ve helped you find ways to save money or inspired you to attempt a project you might not have otherwise tried. I’ve made some great friends and contacts through this magical world of blogging and I really treasure the relationships I’m building with many of you!
While I was in Charlotte I had lunch with a new wedding blog/Twitter friend, wedding planner Erica Stawick (@green_shoes) which was SOOO cool. We had lunch and chatted about blogs, twitter, and the wedding industry and how once it gets in your system it’s hard to leave it all behind. I love making connections with people who love weddings as much as I do! Also while in Charlotte I had my very first ‘blog-lebrity’ moment when one of my loyal readers approached me in the Apple Store in the Southpark Mall in Charlotte! I have to tell you it blew me away- I never thought it’d happen to me. It was a pleasure meeting you A!!! Hope your wedding is fab and please delurk and send me an email, girl!! Writing this blog and making these connections has been a VERY rewarding experience for me… I just can’t thank you all enough for reading.
I just had to get in this quick post tonight because I need your help!! I entered that ‘Budget Savvy Bride’ contest over at Project Wedding and I just found out that I am a finalist!!! Even cooler than that, I was nominated by Chelsea Fuss of Frolic! blog- she is soooooo fabulous. I am completely honored!! I’d appreciate if you all went over to the Project Wedding blog and voted (preferably for me but if you like someone else’s entry better that’s cool too…haha) it will also give you all a sneak peek at our final budget!! Maybe that’ll tide you over until I can get the breakdowns organized into posts. Our entry is titled ‘The Bride from Tennessee’ if you want to vote for me!! We are in the running to win one of three gift cards to Amazon.com- first place receives $750 , second place receives $500, and third place receives $250. Please please vote, no matter who you vote for! All of the entries are great and deserve great prizes for their hard work to keep costs low. Hooray for savvy brides!!
Thank you so much for reading Budget Savvy Bride!
