helping brides create beautiful weddings without breaking the bank

If you’re a bride planning a spring wedding, check out this beautiful California wedding. Sarah and Kolton created a stunning event featuring seasonal details. Sarah’s bouquet of anemones, roses and dahlias is positively stunning.  I love Sarah’s cape, the perfect accessory to keep warm in the cool of spring. Finally, check out the homemade mead Kolton made for wedding favors. What a fun and creative gift! xoxo, Jessica

What was your budget?

Our budget was roughly $5,500.

Dress: $1,500

Food and Drink: $1000

Venue: $200

Cake: $200

Photography: $1100

Flowers/Decorations: $400

Favors/Gifts: $325

Stationery: $300

Music: $125

How many guests did you have?

We had 30 guests.

What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?

Kolton made the mead that we gave as favors at home. He started it in June of 2014 and let it ferment and process for 9 months before we bottled it!

What was the biggest thing you did to save money?

Etsy and DIY!

What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?

To remember that it is just one day. It is a very special, important day, but as long as you’re married to your best friend and the love of your life, and surrounded by your family and friends at the end of it, that’s so much better than spending the equivalent of a down payment on your first home!

What was your biggest splurge?

Photography was the most important to me and I knew that we would end up spending the most on it. We were so lucky to find Brit Jaye when we did!

What was your favorite detail?

My cape was my favorite! It ended up being very necessary at the reception and also just looked so amazing in the photos.

What is the most memorable moment of your day?

The few precious moments that Kolton and I had to ourselves after the ceremony when realized it was finally official that we were husband and wife!
