I came across this online the other day and thought it was kind of funny – though not accurate, at least in my case.Image via TheFrisky.com
Speaking of which, my bridesmaids will be wearing long black dresses and not because they need to a lose a few but because black and white are our wedding colors, everyone looks great in black and I know everyone says this, but you could wear the dress again (haha, who has EVER worn a bridesmaids dress again?). When we went dress shopping for my girls, I told them the color was black but they could pick any dress they liked. The only request was the same designer and fabric so they didn’t look mis-matchy up there. In the end, all my girls picked the same dress. A long black satin dress from Bill Levkoff. Since they haven’t come in yet, I’ll share the online photo and then some photos from the day we picked them (they also didn’t have the dress in black at the shop).Image via BillLevkoff.com
The dress is style number 579 and has pockets which was fun. To be honest, I’m not positive that I like the satin, but I’m not the one who has to where the dress or buy it. I just don’t want it to look shiny or unflattering in the pictures. I would have preferred a chiffon, but I think once I see it in black, I might change my mind. They had it in a dark blue at the bridal shop, so here is a photo of my sister in the long version and my other bridesmaid in the short version. We opted for long since the wedding is in late October. I also figured it would be easier for my girls to pick shoes because you won’t really be able to see them. PS – I’m in the middle and am not sharing my dress with you quite yet.
So, what do you think of the bridesmaids dresses we chose? I think it’s very classic, I hope it looks as beautiful the day of as I am imagining! I’m letting the girls pick whatever shoes they want and then will probably gift them some flip flops and a necklace for them to wear at the reception and wedding. Have you picked your bridesmaid’s dresses yet?
