SNOW!!! and my birthday weekend. :) | The Budget Savvy Bride
The Budget Savvy Bride

We got some REAL snow this weekend. WHOA.

Can you see Steve Perry in the doorway? :)

Doesn’t it look like E and Knox are walking through the wilderness? That’s just our parking lot, covered in inches of snow!!

This rock is pretty much in our backyard. I thought it was pretty. :)

I know many of you must be thinking… ‘So what? It’s just snow!’ But I’ve lived in the south for most of my life, and we just don’t get snow like this… like EVER. So it’s a big dang deal, okay? :)

Unfortunately it was covered in a thin layer of ice from sleet overnight so it wasn’t very good for playing in. It was crunchy. Kind of like walking on glass, with every step you take you break the ice. But it was still pretty to look at. :)

Sunday night we wrapped up my birthday celebration with my family. It was the first time I’d been home since Christmas!! Which is strange considering I only live 20 minutes away. I loved spending the afternoon with them! We went to our favorite place for a late lunch and then had this delish oreo cake my mom made for me! :)

Family portrait! (minus SP) :)

So now I’m pretty much over the snow and I just want it to melt so I can drive my car to run errands. I’ve pretty much been confined to our house for the last two weeks. I had the flu, and then last week Eric’s car was in the shop so he had to drive mine to work, and then the snow came! I’ve got cabin fever and I need to get out of here for a while, ya know??

On my actual birthday we did stay out for most of the day, so that was nice. :) E took me to the Nashville landmark Pancake Pantry for some of the most delicious pancakes I’ve ever tasted!

Hello, lover. Pecan Pancakes… they were sent from heaven.

And we also went to see Up In The Air with George Clooney! I loved it, it was a mix of funny and kinda tragic. You’ll know what I mean if you see it. I definitely recommend though.

And I’m currently reading this book, Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert for book club this week. Now I know that you must be thinking ‘aren’t you young to be in an old lady book club?‘ But au contraire! I’ll explain book club in a later post. I think it’s wonderful and I’m sure you will, too.

I know this post was all over the place, but quite frankly, so is my mind at the moment…. Anywho, hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well! I’ve got some great stuff coming up for the blog so just hold tight and all will be revealed. :)
