I just wanted to take a quick minute to say thank you to all of you out there who voted. Not just voted, but really stuck out your necks for me by posting about the contest either on your own blog, Twitter, facebook, myspace, etc. I can’t thank y’all enough! I was overwhelmed by the number of votes- I never thought this contest would draw those kind of numbers and it was a fight to the finish. I went to bed kind of early last night, and I’m not sure when the contest officially ended so who knows where I stood when it did. In the end I think it became more about who could get the largest amount of people they knew to vote at the same time, and not so much about the content of the entries. Even if I do not win a prize, please know that I appreciate all your help! 🙂
Ultimately, I still feel like a winner (cheesy, I know) because not only did I make a plan for my wedding, but I stuck to it, and made it happen. I pulled off a beautiful wedding for us on a tight budget. We didn’t serve filet mignon but we did serve our 150 guests a full meal. I had tons of personal details without spending a fortune. I had killer photography by using my skills to barter. I did so much to keep costs low on this wedding, and I am proud of the work that I did. I guess we’ll see what happens with the contest, but in the end the prize doesn’t matter. I’m more humbled to know the impact I’ve had on many of you and your planning process.
Comments and emails like these make it worth it:
“I had to go and vote for you. why? because I’m planning my wedding and I look to you for examples every step of the way.
example: last night, making our save the dates, my fiance and I were discussing how we should word them. then I said, wait, I’ll go check budget savvy bride’s site and see what she put! hahaha! you’re such an inspiration for me, and the best part is, you didn’t go all out with unnecessary expensive stuff so I don’t feel guilty reading yours like I do at some other wedding blogs. thanks so much for posting your blog. love you girl!”
