I’m sure you ALL are well aware that the Royal Wedding is happening ONE WEEK from Today!! This event is long anticipated as there hasn’t been a Royal wedding in almost 30 years! Everyone’s talking about details, colors, flowers, Kate’s dress and the like, but what I’m interested in is the BUDGET. Duh. :)

Our friends over at coupon site RetailMeNot created this amazing infographic that illustrates how the average American budget stacks up against the Royal wedding budget. For extra fun they threw in the figures from Chelsea Clinton’s wedding to compare American ‘royalty’ to the real deal. :) Frugal, penny-pinching, savvy brides beware– these numbers might make you lose your lunch!

On April 29, 2011, Kate Middleton will marry Prince William. As speculation swirls over the dress designer, the cake flavors, and the color scheme, takes a look at the costs of the lavish affair. To set the stage for the celebrity nature of the event, we included the cost estimates from Chelsea Clinton’s wedding to Marc Mezvinsky on July 31, 2010. And to put it all into perspective, we compiled data from TheKnot’s annual survey of brides on the cost of the average American wedding. So while most brides know their special day won’t come cheap, they can save where they can with—a bride’s best friend!

  2. WOW. Astronomical. I'll tell what though- me being all into details and decor, I am BAFFLED that the average amount spent on a ring is double what is spent on flowers for the average US wedding. But then again, a ring usually isn't included in a full wedding budget, right? :) Oh money.
