I hadn’t really given alot of thought to what I wanted my wedding cake to look like. Whenever I browse my many subscriptions in my Google Reader, I always grab photos of things I like and put them into separate files in my ‘wedding inspiration’ folder on my desktop. Well, I opened my ‘cakes’ folder today and saw that it seems that I do have a style in mind! Simple, simple, simple! Check out these lovely cakes… of course mine will be at most 3 layers, but I do enjoy the textures of these examples- one thing I know for sure is we want BUTTERCREAM frosting… because… you know.. it actually tastes good. And that’s what’s most important to me.

ooh, love the spotty one! and the petal one… wait you’re making me rethink my cupcake plan. bad budgetsavvybride!
OOOHHH those are all gorgeous! If we were having a cake, either one on the left would be my choice!
When we were still considering having a cake, the top right cake was my cake inspiration!
hahaha, some of these look familiar, it seems we are both big on texture.
i think i actually have the one with the green background saved too! all are gorgeous but that one is my fave. simple and chic
p.s. i added the link on my blog so that my itunes list can be magnified -lol-sorry about that!
Me too, it is a cake after all, makes sense that it be all about the yumminess!
Hi! Love the blog…
To save money on the cake, add fresh flowers and not “sugar” flowers – if that is the route you go. Plus, a lot of my friends had their cakes done at the local grocery store and they turned out amazing and delicious. Plus, they will design anything you like.
keep your eyes open for when I post about the cake we had….i think you will love it!
Any cake you want can have buttercream, however, all of your “Inspiration Cakes” are all fondant covered. If you want A
very smooth and professional looking cake it will most likely be covered in fondant.
