TRANSPORTING BOUQUETS AND ARRANGEMENTS

Once you have made your arrangements and you are ready to head to the venue you will realize you need a safe way to get all your arrangements there. We have a great solution for you! Your BloomsByTheBox.com box has a second use: Use this step-by-step tutorial to help you safely transport arrangements using your BloomsByTheBox box or any other box of suitable height. Shoeboxes can also be used if the top is taped onto the base.

How to Use a Box to Safely Transport Flower Arrangements

  1. Place the flower arrangement you need to transport on top of the box, and mark a box around the bottom, so that it will fit snugly.
  2. Cut the opening with a floral knife, Xacto knife or box cutter and remove the excess cardboard.
  3. Place the arrangement in the opening. If there is any room for the vase to move, use packing tape to secure it to the box on two sides. If you are concerned that tape will mark or damage the container, put paper between the tape and container. As long as the tape creates "seat belts" it will hold the arrangement in place.

Transporting Bouquets Cut an opening large enough for the vase, and carefully place the arrangement inside.

How to Safely Transport Wedding Bouquets

  1. Put an inch of water in a spare vase, or even a pint-size water glass or jar. Carefully put your bouquet in the container, being careful not to let the water touch your bouquet ribbon. You may want or need to remove the ribbon during transport and replace it when you reach the venue.
  2. Follow the steps above to secure the container to inside the box.

Transporting Arrangements Place the bouquet in a vase with a small amount of water, and secure the vase in the box with tape.

How to Safely Transport Corsages and Boutonnieres

  1. If the corsages or boutonnieres have exposed stems (which haven't been taped closed), you can use plastic cups with a small amount of water to hold them during transport. Place the cups snugly in a small box to prevent shifting, using balled-up newspaper to fill excess space if needed.
  2. If they are sealed, carefully place them in a small box with a bed of paper towels to prevent sliding.
