helping brides create beautiful weddings without breaking the bank

It's hard to believe it's been a month since my whirlwind trip to NYC for my Media Tour with RetailMeNot! I just wanted to share these last few pictures and my experience with the tour. I was lucky to meet Lauren, who is a PR chick from the West Coast who works on PR for RMN. She rocks!! We met on Wednesday night and got to gab about the schedule for the next day in addition to the details of her own upcoming wedding!! It was so perfect that she was the person I got to go through this experience with since she is interested in the subject matter – weddings! She was super laid-back and easy to talk to and I felt like I made an instant friend!

The next morning I had to be up EARLY- I think I got up at 4:30 AM to shower and get ready. Luckily our hotel was right around the corner from the studio. My call time was at 5:45 AM and I went straight into hair and makeup!

Then Lauren and I worked with the producer to dress up the set! We had a laptop, a simple grouping of wildflowers, some of the mason jars and milk glass vases from my own wedding, some of our personal wedding invites, as well as an awesome cake from Cakes Confidential! (in case you don't know about Cakes Confidential- they are a fake cake rental company- you can choose a cake and have it decorated to match your wedding theme and then serve sheet cakes to your guests- great way to save money!!)

Here I am just before my first interview! I was nervous and excited but it all went really well and I had an absolutely great time! The production team and the crew had really great feedback and helped me to feel comfortable.

media tourHere I am with Lauren after the interviews! I was sad to part ways but we still keep in touch via various social media. Her wedding is now less than a month away so she's in the thick of things! She has a blog called The Little Goat where you can keep up with her until then. She also has an etsy shop called Wunzees where she sells adorable appliqued onesies and other baby items that are TOO cute! Go wish her the best and tell her I sent ya, cause she's awesome. 🙂

I think that officially wraps up my recaps from NYC! Thanks again to Lauren and RetailMeNot for making this such a wonderful experience!
