Since I live far away from a majority of my friends and family, I knew I wanted to incorporate my bridal shower & bachelorette party into one weekend. That way any bridesmaids or girlfriends that were able to come into town for the bridal shower could also attend the bachelorette party without it costing too much money, especially since all of them will be travelling for the wedding.
Being an uber planner, my mom let me handle a lot of the planning around the bridal shower that would take place in Pennsylvania. She looked up venues and prices, and when we found one that worked with her budget, we went and checked it out while I was in town visiting. Truthfully, the great thing about the venue, Royal Manchester Golf Links, is that the venue itself is gorgeous (and you’d have no idea it was a fraction of the cost of other places!) so you don’t need a lot of decoration. We took some of our wedding décor & just used it throughout the venue to give it the look and feel we wanted – a downplayed version of my wedding.
For the bridal shower, we did a Bridal Brunch, and it seemed to be a huge hit. The venue organized the Mimosa Bar, kept the coffee full, and the food was delicious. I can’t say enough about Royal Manchester and their staff, and would highly recommend them for any event.
In regards to the bachelorette party, I let my matron of honor handle all details related to the “girls’ night” sleepover, and when I walked into the house, I was completely blown away. She went above and beyond anything I could have imagined. We had the sleepover with the girls that could make it in the night before the bridal shower and then went to the bridal shower the next day.
To say my weekend was amazing would be an understatement (my abs hurt that evening from laughing so much!). The love and support from not only my family that attended the bridal shower, but from my bridesmaids and girlfriends at the bachelorette sleepover was more than I could of hoped for. It made me even more excited for not only our wedding, but all of the festivities leading up to the wedding so I can spend more time with the women in my life who helped guide me to where I am today.
And what’s even more exciting is that we’re less than a month away – After 2 years of planning (okay I didn’t really plan for 2 years!), I cannot wait for everything to get here!
