How many guests did you have?
What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?
Amanda was a drama major and has a background in theater. She designed the ceremony set and made all of the decor for it. They kept things simple and fun by serving cookies and milk for cocktail hour and had It’s It ice cream sandwiches for dessert!
Did you do any DIY projects or create any handmade items for your weddings?
Amanda created lavender bunch hanging aisle arrangements and also made a DIY ceremony arch. She collected a banner to hang up for photos after the ceremony and also purchased all of her own decor for the reception – including the table linens and all of the centerpiece items!
What was the biggest thing you did to save money?
Creating all of the centerpieces saved a lot of money on flowers! Choosing affordable venues also helped keep down the cost.
What was most important to you two? Was there anything you chose to splurge on or skip?
What was your favorite detail?
My favorite detail was making the wedding our own by creating all of our own decor. The reception venue also allowed us to hang photos on the walls.
What is the most memorable moment of your day?
The most memorable moment of the day is when we held “lightning round” speeches where anyone could go up on stage and make a quick toast to us!
What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?
Don’t be afraid to be creative and let your personality shine through! Also highly recommend having a planner or coordinator to make sure everything runs smoothly so you can relax on the wedding day!
