Cozy Autumn Wedding

Happy Wednesday!  I love how Jennifer and Clayton incorporate blue hues, silver and white into their cozy autumn wedding. The bright colors work so well in this event because they complement the dark wood of their venue and the rustic decor; the chalkboard signs and cake table are especially darling. The UK details sweetly intermingled throughout their recption made their personal and memorable. Enjoy this lovely wedding from Kansas City! xoxo, Jessica

How many guests did you have?

115

What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?

We both love the UK, having vacationed there a few times, so wanted to incorporate some details from there, like our dinner choice (we served shepherds pie), having tea, and many of the decorations themselves.

What was the biggest thing you did to save money?

Found an affordable venue!! Also, I made all of my own bouquets. Avoiding a florist saved us thousands!

What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?

Both choose your top 5 things you absolutely WANT for the wedding (ie open bar, quartet, live band, etc). If you both choose one of the same things, you cannot choose another one. This helped us agree on a ton of things. I wanted different chairs (which would have been an additional cost), so Clay asked if it was a top 5 for me. I said no, and that settled it.

What was your biggest splurge?

Jennifer Wood, our decorator. We rented all the decorations from her, then she set everything up for us!

What was your favorite detail?

Definitely our quartet. It added so much to the ceremony.

What is the most memorable moment of your day?

Our first look. I loved being able to see him before the ceremony!
