Pivot Don’t Panic: A Facebook Live Wedding

Love really does conquer all. This sweet couple pivotted on their wedding day due to our current circumstances and made their wedding virtual! The bride also wrote a beautiful poem about the experience that we know will make you smile. Enjoy this sweet and simple Facebook Live Wedding!

From the bride: We had to postpone our big wedding that I’ve been planning for the past 2 years… but we didn’t let COVID-19 win!

We got married over the weekend in our living room! It was a sweet and simple ceremony with just the two of us. Our pastor was on speakerphone and all of our family and friends tuned in to watch our wedding ceremony on Facebook Live. We asked our guests to dress up and send us their pictures. I even had my bachelorette party online via Facebook Live, too!

I wrote a little poem inspired by How the Grinch Stole Christmas because I was able to see that a marriage is so much more than a wedding. We didn’t need all those material things, we will have our big wedding one day with our family and friends. But, for now, I have an amazing husband and we had an amazing day!

Our wedding day came but it didn’t go as planned
it came without a caterer, a DJ, a limo or a band.
It came without bridesmaids, flowers and without a hairstyle so glam.
It came without my dear mother wiping my tears and holding my hand.

Our wedding day came because it was time.
It came without a planner telling us where to sit and how to pour the wine

Our wedding day came and it didn’t take
A photographer telling us how to pose and how to cut the cake.

Our wedding day happened not in a church just in our home.
But with God and our family watching and telling us that we are not alone!

Our wedding day came and it was the greatest day of my life.
I am so incredibly grateful that you chose me to be your wife.

Times like these certainly bring what's truly important to light. At the end of the day, the only things you really need to get married are you, your partner, an officiant, and depending on your state, potentially a witness or two.

No matter what your wedding day “looks” like, the important part is that it's full of LOVE! 💕

We hope this brings a little sunshine to your day!
