helping brides create beautiful weddings without breaking the bank

Happy Friday lovelies!

Time to wrap up another week on BSB. I attended a fun event last night in NYC where I snapped the photo above– isn't that a simple and lovely altar idea for a wedding? I loved it, and thought you would, too! 🙂 Here's some other links and things I'm loving this week:

  • Love this post by Sara of Burnett's Boards over on Mountainside Bride this week. She gives advice on what to do if you don't want to invite kids to your wedding.
  • Loving this post over on Every Last Detail about lessons learned from previous brides. Hindsight advice is always really valuable to read- I recommend checking it out!
  • This post from Bridal Musings is full of practical wedding planning tips for newly engaged couples!

The Burks (who shot this week's featured real budget wedding) are giving away free wedding photography! Check out the details here.

I just learned about this great website builder called Wix that I wanted to share with you! It’s a free(!) website-building platform, but unlike so many others you’re actually given complete control over what your site looks like, from color scheme to font to text-box sizing, without needing to learn a line of code. There’s also a ton of apps available for integration with Wix, so you can add maps and surveys and other useful stuff. Here are a few examples of people using Wix for their wedding sites:

Our friend Christie over on Mountainside Bride even did a five-part video tutorial series on how to use to build your wedding website! I recommend checking it out!

I recently happened across this great blog called Penny Chic where the author Shauna Miller shares budget friendly fashion for the masses to help women everywhere look chic on the cheap! This gal's got it going' on, y'all- she even just launched her designer collaboration with Walmart – her Little Black Dress Collection consists of five silhouettes in regular AND plus sizes and best of all- they are only TWENTY BUCKS EACH. I just ordered the peplum- can't wait to try it out! Check out the whole collection here– these dresses would be great for cocktail parties, engagement parties, even bridesmaids dresses for the chic bride on a budget! Fingers crossed they launch more colors soon 🙂

I know many a budget savvy vintage-loving rustic-chic bride who is on an endless search for Vintage Blue Ball Mason jars. Well search no more- the company has re-released the blue jars to commemorate their 100 year anniversary. Thanks to Alexandra from Heart Love Weddings for the tip! You can purchase them here.

That's it, folks! Have a lovely weekend!!
