Finding “The One”

You may think I’m going to tell you about how I found my man, but I’m actually going to tell you about finding my wedding dress! (Equally as important right?)

Being a petite bride is tougher than it looks. Everyone comments about how small you are and that you can buy anything…etc. but that is not the case. Trying on dresses that were 10x too big made it hard to picture what it would really look like, especially with all those clips  here and there.  It was very overwhelming, and not the enjoyable/fun experience that I had been imagining. I had a vision of how I wanted to look and the style I wanted, and after the first failed shopping trip, I was starting to think I would never find “the one”.

The second time I went shopping (very spontaneously), was with my mom and oldest sister and I knew the second I laid eyes on it that it was mine! You definitely know when it’s “the one” but I didn’t cry, I was way too excited for that! Sorry, you’re going to have to wait to see it til our wedding pictures. Wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise 🙂

My advice when looking for “The One”: Look online at the silhouette’s and style’s that you think may fit your body and print pictures of dresses you like. Go shopping with people who are there to support you, not just give their fashion advice. Pick a dress that makes you feel beautiful and you will be comfortable wearing the whole day. Picking a dress you are confident in is very important as well. This is the one day that all of the attention will be on you and your hubby, so make yourself as comfortable as possible.

Happy shopping ladies! What’s your advice when dress shopping?
