Juggling a lot with wedding planning and life stuff? This post is for you.

These days, everyone is busy. Struggling with finding a balance between work, regular life, and wedding planning? Need some tips on time management for wedding planning and ways to keep yourself on track? You’re in the right place.

Between your job, friends, and family commitments, nurturing your relationship with your partner, keeping up with your health and fitness, and general life admin, it can be hard to know how to fit wedding planning into an already full plate.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could just take a work hiatus to focus on the wedding full-time? Since you’re here, we’re assuming you can’t exactly afford to do that!

So instead, check out these five tips for the busy bride to help fit wedding planning tasks into your life:

1. Let It Go!

You cannot meticulously plan and DIY every single detail unless you just have an infinite amount of time and energy on your hands. (We’re guessing since you’re reading this, you don’t!)

If you have a super busy schedule, you probably won’t have time to hand-letter 150 envelopes. Pick your battles, and the ones that don’t make the cut: let ‘em go. Take the easy way out, or simply don’t include it in the wedding. Reference that list of wedding priorities and be ruthless with cutting out that which doesn’t make sense.

2. Ask for Help

This may also be a challenge in letting it go. When you let someone else take care of something, you no longer have total control over it. One thing we’ve learned about wedding planning: most people want to be helpful. Also, delegation can be really helpful in taking things off your plate and getting things done.

No bride is an island, and here at BSB we love the “it takes a village” aspect to planning a wedding. Don’t be afraid to ask those around you for help.

Assign tasks to people that are willing to help, but be sure to only share those tasks that make sense. Don’t ask your fiancé who’s never crafted before to do a DIY decor project. Instead ask your partner to tackle something in their wheelhouse, like choosing music playlists, selecting the signature cocktails, or renting sound equipment.

3. Take Advantage of Spare Moments

This one is really helpful for any DIY brides. For example, if you’re planning to DIY your wedding invites, decorations, or anything else for the big day, you’re going to need time to devote to those projects. You may find it hard to set aside a block of 4-5 hours for an in-depth crafting project, so you have to take smaller chunks of time as you have them.

Having a dedicated craft space for DIY projects will allow you to jump in for 15 minutes here, 30 minutes there. Keeping your supplies and tools close at hand and ready allows you to carve out stolen moments to get the projects done little by little.

4. Don’t Waste Your Time

When it comes to meeting vendors, only meet up with the ones that you actually feel like you could hire. Do your research, and don’t waste your time with a photographer that is way out of your budget, a caterer that you’re unsure of, etc. Only schedule those coffee meet-ups with the vendors you actually think you will hire.

Many brides learn this one the hard way and waste their time. Try to get as much information upfront before setting up in-person meetings. Time is money, after all– for both you and the potential vendors!

5. Know What You Want, and Be Decisive

Finally, something you can use Pinterest for! Start deleting superfluous pins. We know there are 20 different cake styles that you can love, but do your best to narrow it down. When it comes time to make the decision, make the decision.

Sure, you can spend an entire weekend looking for shoes, but who has time for that? If you can narrow down the style you’re looking for and your budget, you’ll be able to weed through options much more quickly. Being efficient and decisive will save you time and money!

6. Bonus Tip: Be Organized! Take advantage of helpful tools and resources.
