helping brides create beautiful weddings without breaking the bank

Flowers and decor are one of the easiest ways to make a statement but can be done on a very small budget, it's all about creativity. Flowers were a tough decision for me, seeing as my mother is our florist. She has so many ideas and can pretty much do anything, which makes the sky the limit! She has helped me narrow down what will be in season which will help to keep the cost down considerably.  Here's a few of our ideas and some hopeful DIY projects.

To include some Indian traditions, we are doing a garland exchange between myself and my fiance and our parents at the end of our ceremony. The garlands are made up traditionally of carnations, and are a symbol of unity between both family. Ceremony Decor1, 2

You’re so lucky to have a mother that’s a florist! We have a family friend doing our bouquets/arrangements, but I’m trying to figure out where to order my flowers wholesale, and what would be in season that I would like in May… Decisions, decisions!

Leah, I’m in the process of trying to find out where to get my flowers. I’m wondering if you have any tips on cheap places to get them. Is online better than going to a florist? Also, any tips on which kinds of flowers are cheaper? Thanks!

The best thing to do is go to a recommended florist. If you have time to go to a local Wedding show, look for a florist there. They will be able to tell you what is in season which will make it a lot less money and everything will be a lot fresher as well. Hope that helps.

I like the look of the hanging flower basket.
