helping brides create beautiful weddings without breaking the bank

I meant to post on this recap earlier, but better late than never right? πŸ™‚ I had a BLAST at the Girl's Night Out for Nashville Brides on July 23rd, 2009 at Aloft Hotel! I had so much fun, in fact, that I didn't even whip out my camera to take any photos. I'm usually ‘that girl' who takes pictures of everything. I'd become even worse about it while planning the wedding, since I liked to share things here on the blog. But I literally was having too much fun chatting to even think about it. πŸ™‚ So the photos I use here are from ABG and were all taken by Donald Yeager.

Most of my best girlfriends live far away… or at least far enough to where I don't get to see them very often. So a night to hang out with the girls and talk about one of my favorite things was awesome! I was totally honored that Ashley asked me to speak, but was also very nervous! It ended up being totally casual and fun. Girls asked questions and I tried my best to answer them. πŸ™‚ I told them that I was by no means an expert– a few months ago I was just a bride like any of them. But I do feel like I was able to accomplish something pretty hard- which is pulling off a beautiful wedding on a limited budget. (Ya know, gotta give myself a little pat on the back every now and then.) And of course I love sharing the knowledge I gained through the experience with everyone so I loved that this gave me a unique opportunity to do so! I spoke about how I saved money, talked about my DIY projects, and shared any tips or tricks I had. It was really fun and a good experience for me. I haven't talked in front of a group like that since college so it was a good refresher in public speaking. πŸ™‚Girl's Night Out Recap

(I look like a total dork)

I really enjoyed talking to the other brides and giving them suggestions for different areas of their weddings. They were all so nice and have wonderfully different styles, and alot of them are BLOGGING which is the coolest part. πŸ™‚ I have met so many people in real life, and virtually, through blogging and getting to meet some girls in my area who love weddings just as much as me was awesome! The Nashville brides are awesome ladies, and I've even created a new link section to the right just for them! Go check out their blogs, because they are full of great ideas and inspiration. πŸ™‚ I'll list them here in the post as well, so all you Google Readers and email subscribers don't miss them.
