You might remember my review of the MyPublisher Photo Books from late last year — the quality of the photo book I ordered was top-notch and I was thrilled with the results! So, when the MyPublisher team approached me to test drive their new Premium Photo Album and Design Services, I was even more excited to see their higher end offerings.
MyPublisher’s recently launched premium album offerings give you the perfect way to get a professional quality album without the photographer markup. And you get the added benefit of a designer to layout your book for you included in the service, so if you got a disc of images from your wedding day and don’t have time or the knowledge to design an album yourself – this is a fantastic option for you.
I started by uploading my favorite wedding day images into the MyPublisher platform, and within a week I had my first draft ready to review! I was really impressed with the first draft of the layout and only saw a few little changes I wanted to be made — removing a duplicate photo I had accidentally included and swapping the placement of a couple of photos. As I reviewed the layout I was able to leave notes about changes I wanted to be made on each page, and save my progress along the way. It was super simple to do, and when I was finished outlining my changes I submitted them to the designer.
When I reviewed the updated draft I found all the changes were made to my specifications and I was ready to order my final album! I was taken through a series of options to choose from and add on to my album design, including:
Albums come in 8×8, 10×10 or 12×12 size, so you can choose the one that works best for you. All albums come with a base of 20 pages, and you can add on more for $10 per page.
Albums can be customized with gilded edges in black, silver or gold. (This is currently a free upgrade, so I went for the gold!)
Standard black leather is free, but you can upgrade to a smoother, Premium Glove leather in a variety of colors for $30, no matter what size album you choose.
The MyPublisher Premium Albums come with durable, rigid pages, coated with a protective lacquer to withstand the natural wear and tear of use over time, but you can upgrade to extra thick pages for an additional fee.
Choose from the simple layout (left) or modern layout (right). I chose the simple layout for my album.
You can choose to have rounded edges added to your book and pages for an additional fee. I chose to leave my pages squared.
You also have the option to add cover imprinting to your album, such as your name and wedding date. You can do it as a blind stamp, or with gold or silver foil. I opted to leave off a cover imprint on my album.
So, after I had chosen all my options, I placed my order for my wedding album! In about a week, I had a fun package arrive at my door and I couldn’t wait to open it! MyPublisher has been crafting photo books since 1994, so they seriously know what they’re doing, y’all. They take great pride and care in creating beautiful books to hold your cherished memories for years to come! I was so thrilled with my album when it arrived – it came in a box for safe storage and protection which is a nice touch.
I ordered the 10×10 option and the size is great. Not too big and not too small. Just right. 🙂 I loved the option to inlay a photo into the cover. Such a classic look!
The gold foil edges on the pages just make me happy, and the colors in the album pop so brilliantly. I was super impressed and happy with the photo and color quality in the album.
The thick album pages lay perfectly flat for a seamless look when browsing the album. Just look at those brilliant turquoises and teals jumping off the page!! (I’m still obsessed with my wedding, to be honest.)
I love how the designer made this full wedding party shot full bleed across the entire spread. It’s quite striking!
Another look at the gold edges and corners. The quality of the leather and the weight of the album are two things I am kind of in love with. It feels substantial and important, as it should!
Overall I am over the moon in love with our premium album from MyPublisher, and the process couldn’t have been easier. I spent some time looking over it with E the night it came in and it was so fun to relive our wedding day through the pages of this album! MyPublisher offered so many options to choose from when ordering my album, it made me feel like I was getting a really custom and unique final product and in the end I couldn’t be happier with it.
