I love when a couple chooses a special location for their wedding! Hilary and Josh wed at a family estate and embraced a country and rustic flair for their big day! How sweet are all of the rustic details they incorporated, like antique oil lamps and books? And make sure you check out the pictures of their pup! I always love when a couple includes their fur-baby in their wedding ceremony. Enjoy this estate wedding! xoxo, Jessica

What was your budget?
My wedding budget was around $13,000, which was difficult to do for a dream wedding. My wedding dress was $300, my ceremony location was free, the DIY ceremony decor averaged around $150, minus the fireplace antique that was my grandmothers. That was also free! The horse and carriage was $300 per hour, which I thought was a steal! Tux rentals were 100 each Dresses the bridesmaids purchased. Florals were all hand made off a website for under $150. Our food and reception was the most cost and we had a simple ceremony at a small banquet hall close by. The one thing I wanted to splurge on was my wedding photographer. Photos were the most important thing.
How many guests did you have?
We had around 80 guests at our wedding.
What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?
My husband is a graphic designer and he made the wedding invitations and save-the-dates. I loved that he created our invitations and many of the signs at the reception.
What was the biggest thing you did to save money?
I got married in my fathers back yard, which was ten times more gorgeous than a indoor ceremony. That saved us transportation cost. We also did not rent any limos. Everything was very close and we carpooled to our reception.
What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?
Do not procrastinate! It helps to save on budget when you have the time to plan as many things you can take on yourself, instead of paying someone else to do them. I loved that Josh and I worked together to make our dream wedding come true.
What was your biggest splurge?
Our wedding photographer, Morgan Lindsay Photography. I wanted to remember our photos and feel like superstar. Morgan has a way of making you feel beautiful and calm.
What was your favorite detail?
The dried lavender I chose to carry instead of a real floral bouquet.
What is the most memorable moment of your day?
When Josh did a back flip during our grand entrance into the reception!
