helping brides create beautiful weddings without breaking the bank

influenster jadore voxbox

This is the 2nd time I've been chosen to receive a VoxBox from Influenster!  The first time was a very busy month for me, so I didn't get the chance to fully review the products on the blog. This time, I wanted to be sure to share my thoughts and feelings about my samples! Please note: I received this box of free samples in order to review them – thanks Influenster!  You might've seen me post this image on Instagram if you follow me there! Without further ado, here are my thoughts on the items inside my box:

kiss looks so natural lashes

KISS Looks So Natural Lashes – Vamp

First up are these faux eyelashes from KISS. I have to preface this by saying I LOVE trying new beauty products – but seeing as I spend most of my time behind a keyboard in my pjs these days, I hardly ever get gussied up – especially not enough to require falsies. I knew I wanted to save these lashes for the perfect occasion! I ended up wearing them for a wedding where I got to be a bridesmaid – and they really helped my eyes pop and give me an extra dose of glamour, if I do say so myself. The lashes were fairly easy to apply and even came with lash glue — PRO TIP: let the glue dry slightly and get ‘tacky' before applying the lashes to your lash line. I almost did it perfectly on the first try–  I ended up having to add a bit more glue to one corner to keep it down. But after that one little hiccup- the lashes stayed all day and night and looked SO fantastic and natural. Much better than wearing mascara, I think! This isn't the best quality picture– but I think you get the point. 🙂

bridesmaid false lashes

Nice, right? My hubby doesn't look too bad, either! 😉

Boots Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask

Next up to review is this great clay mask from Boots Botanics. I've been using this religiously every other day since I received the sample. It makes my skin feel super clean and TIGHT after use. You apply the mask to your damp skin and let it dry for ten minutes before washing it off. My only caveat is that the mask has a little extra water in the solution so be careful when you first open the tube! Otherwise it seems like a very nice product and I look forward to continuing to use it in my skincare regimen!

Hershey's Kisses

Do these really need explaining? This girl is trying very hard to get in shape and lose a few lbs before our big anniversary trip in May so the last thing I need around is chocolate. I did have a few kisses here and there but my hubby's done a good job of polishing off most of the bag over the last month.

John Freida Frizz Ease 3 Day Straight Flat Iron Spray

This product is meant to be sprayed on your damp hair before you blowdry and flat iron. I don't flat iron my hair often because I feel like it makes my hair really… well… flat. I find it hard to keep the body in my hair if I use a flat iron on it, but for the sake of reviewing this product I decided to try it out. It definitely seems like it helps reduce frizz and makes hair very silky and smooth. However, as a girl with oily skin and hair, I could NOT go 3 days between washes – at least not if I want to be seen in public! I found that it weighed my hair down a bit and even made it appear more greasy than I'd like. I'll probably be using this sparingly.

red rose teas

Red Rose Simply Indulgent Tea Flavors

Last but not least were the two flavor samples of Red Rose Teas – they sent Lemon Chiffon and Créme Caramel. I LOVED both! The Caramel and a smooth and *indulgent* flavor to it that helped me curb a sweet craving one afternoon… and the lemon chiffon was both refreshing and delightful. They also sent along some coupons for more tea so I've got my eye out for these products on the grocery shelves because I would definitely continue to drink these teas.

SO- there you have it! A review of my J'Adore Voxbox experience. Have any questions about any of the products I tried? Let me know in the comments. Also- be sure to sign up for Influenster— you could be eligible to participate in an upcoming Voxbox Sample campaign!
