Hello there Budget Savvy Brides! I will be one of the contributors over the next few months and am excited to share my journey through wedding planning with you. So let’s get to know each other…

A little about us: My name is Leah, and I am a 24 year old bride-to-be from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. My fiance’s name is Sam, he is 25 years old and is a commercial pilot.

How he proposed: Since we have been dating over 7 years and had talked about marriage a lot, I knew it was coming.  According to my fiance, I had been asking TOO many questions and he had to find a way to surprise me. One fine Friday afternoon he beat me home from work, hid his car, and set up camp. He kept calling me telling me he would be late to come over because of traffic etc. so that I wouldn’t suspect anything. When I came home from work, I went down to my room and there he was!!! My room was lit up with candles and spelled out on the floor said, “Will you Marry me?” He had a huge bouquet of red roses and a bottle of champagne. How romantic right? Well it gets better, he got down on one knee and started reading me the sweetest poem that he had written for me. That was June 3, 2011 and now we are getting ready for our wedding on April 28, 2012!
