My name is Elisabeth and I’m thrilled to get to share my wedding journey with you! I love this site and it has already been incredibly helpful in my planning.

Let me start with some facts about us. I’m 21 and a full-time student, part-time retail peon. I am going to school for Professional and Technical Writing with the hope to one day become an editor. Matt is 26 and recently became a police officer. I had the wonderful privilege of supporting him through his journey to get his dream job. The recent addition to our little family is Oreo, the beautiful husky mix we adopted a few weeks ago. We just adore her!

We can’t take normal pictures together!

Matt and I have been together for almost two years. We met at work and started dating about a year later. He proposed on Christmas Day 2012 and that was the best present ever! He brought me over to his house by saying he had forgotten a gift there. When I walked into his room, he had laid out rose petals on the floor and set up a large photo of us. He wrote a beautiful note on the back of the photo, finishing with “P.S. I went to Jared’s.” The next thing I knew he was down on one knee, asking me to marry him! I was so shocked and surprised that I might have said, “Yea” instead of “Yes!” He won’t let me forget it! 😀

Our dream wedding is going to be September 20, 2014. We are keeping it simple with a refined rustic approach. I have described it as “Little House on the Prairie with a dash of Grace Kelly.” Hopefully I can execute it well! We wanted it to be intimate so we are only inviting close family and friends.  You can visit my Pinterestand check out some of the ideas I’ve got brewing.

We’ve budgeted roughly $5000 for our big day so getting creative is a must. I’ve already snagged some great budget savvy deals! 🙂 The ceremony and reception will both be at a local church that is in a beautiful wooded locale. I think it encompasses Colorado and us perfectly!

I can’t wait to share more with you in the coming weeks!
