How many guests did you have?

We had 96 guests.

What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?

Definitely the 80’ yacht that we rented. Kyle and I live on the water and boat year-round so it was important to include that aspect of our life in the wedding.

Did you do any DIY projects or create any handmade items for your weddings?

The centerpiece flower bud vase arrangements, table numbering, & ring toss game!

What was the biggest thing you did to save money?

The venue! We were lucky enough to use my in-law’s lots on the water in Beaufort, NC for our wedding venue for free.

What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?

Do not be afraid or embarrassed to ask or accept help! You will most certainly need it unless you just happen to not work and have a Type A personality. Delegate tasks. Your friends and family want to help, but often don’t want to over-step or don’t know how they can help. They can’t read minds and nothing should be “common sense” when it comes to weddings because everyone has a different vision for their wedding. Don’t let the little details and nuances of wedding planning come between you and your fiance. Take a step back and realize that if things does not turn out as planned, it’s not the end of the world; know and be prepared for your wedding day to have some hiccups. Be mentally prepared for these hiccups and understand that you will likely be the ONLY person that notices them.

What was your biggest splurge?

The 80’ San Lorenzo yacht that we rented for $500/night. It was well worth it.

What was your favorite detail?

My second-hand dress. I was lucky enough to find such a beautiful dress that was pre-owned. I saved a TON of money.

What is the most memorable moment of your day?

Walking down the aisle and seeing my husband-to-be. I was immediately overcome with emotions. I couldn’t stop the tears!
