How many guests did you have?
How did you meet?
We met through mutual friends during college. Though it wasn’t love at first sight, or even like at first sight, once Tyler’s best friend convinced me to go on a date with him, the rest was history.
What is your proposal story?
On our two-year dating anniversary, Tyler took me to a beautiful mountain overlook that faced the Tennessee River. He handed me a notebook, and inside had written about all of the adventures that had taken place in the last couple of years. Then he asked me if I was ready for their next big adventure – marriage!
Tell us about your wedding vision.
We chose the Apple Barn at Howe Farms. This beautiful venue is situated on 130 acres of rolling hills right outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee. We knew the breathtaking views at the outdoor ceremony space would be at the peak of beauty for our September nuptials. We wanted lots of laughter, and a primary focus on enjoying every minute to the fullest.
Tell us about your attire choices.
I (the bride) wore a simple, elegant white satin gown from The White Magnolia Bridal, as her my maids stood by my side in cranberry red floor-length gowns. The groom and his men coordinated perfectly in classic black tuxes.
What were your favorite parts of the day?
This outdoor ceremony took place under the venue’s arbor, allowing the farm-land scenery to create a stunning natural backdrop. Our ceremony decor included a gorgeous floral design to adorn the arbor and whiskey barrels at the altar, which created a rustic simplicity. The visual emphasis of the ceremony came from the beautiful deep red tones found in the bridesmaids’ dressed and the flowers!
We celebrated at the reception which featured a delicious semi-naked cake, dinner and dancing. After the sun set, guests cut loose on the patio dance floor under a covering of magical bistro lights and stars. We enjoyed a wonderful sparkler send off by our guests!
Tell us about your wedding flowers.
My show-stopping cascading bouquet, made by Lang Floral Designs, included more than a dozen different types of blooms and greenery for a rich textural look to offset the simplicity of the gown.
Tell us about your decor.
We kept the centerpieces simple, with some beautiful lanterns, candles, and greenery from our florist.
Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?
