Save the Date Ideas with FujiFilm Products!
Last month, I had the pleasure of hosting my 2nd DIY class at the Fujifilm Wonder Photo Shop in NYC's Flatiron District. It was such a fun night – I just love crafting! You may remember from my previous posts about the Wonder Photo Shop that the store has all sorts of amazing photo printing abilities and products that make perfect gifts, home decor, and more. Last time, we made DIY Bridesmaids Scrapbooks that was super fun! For this DIY weddings class, I decided to put together a super simple and cute save-the-date design using photos printed at the Fujifilm Wonder Photo Shop. Best of all? I created some cute printables so that you can recreate these beauties yourself! So fun, right?
I designed the save the dates in two different styles, and three different font options to choose from. You can follow my instructions to the letter or you can add your own embellishments to make them more unique! I hope you love this simple and cute project! I created some of the designs using 4×4 square prints from the Wonder Photo Shop, and some of them using Instax Prints that I made with the Instax Photo Printer. It's seriously amazing — allowing you to print as many copies as you want of your favorite photos right onto their instant film via a handy smartphone app! I love how the Instax photos give the design a little more kitschy and vintage vibe– so fun! Check out my simple instructions below!
Layered Style Photo Save the Date
Start by printing the photos you'll need for your save the date. You can use whichever style of photos you like, either square prints or a pair of Instax prints.
You'll also need a paper trimmer, the printable files (linked at the bottom of the post to download), and the paper you want to use as your backing. This style is great for you if you want to use a darker color as your backing paper, because you can print the calendar and other text on white paper for easy reading. Next, you'll want to use your paper trimmer to cut out the banner and calendar pieces by following the guidelines on the printed pages.
Then, use your paper trimmer to cut your pages to 5 x 7 inch size. You may find it easier to “batch” these tasks, especially if you are making a bunch of save the dates.
For the next phase, you'll need a tape runner and a marker in the color of your choice.
Use your tape runner (or glue stick, or whatever adhesive you'd like to use) to apply your calendar and headline to your paper.
Then, use your tape runner to attach your photos to your save the date.
Finally, use a marker in the color of your choice to circle the month and day of your wedding. If the date is in another calendar year, feel free to write in the year to indicate!
Voila! Super cute Save the Date!
Simple Photo Save the Date
If you want a simpler project and are planning to use a lighter colored paper, this design may be better for you! Start by printing out as many save the dates as you need. I designed them with 2 per page and added crop marks to make this project super simple!
Use your paper trimmer to trim the save the dates out along the crop marks I created.
Then, just use your tape runner to stick your photo to the paper!
Use a marker in a color of your choice to circle your date and voila! SUPER simple Save the Date your family and friends will love 🙂
I love how simple this project is, and all the ways you can customize it just by choosing the colors of paper, markers, or even the photos that you want to use! Feel free to add other embellishments too like stick on gems or stickers!
I hope you enjoy this project and that it inspires you to get a little crafty with some photos for your wedding day! Thanks so much to the Fujifilm Wonder Photo Shop for having me host this fun craft class and for offering absolutely beautiful photo prints and products to make this project shine!
