How many guests did you have?

Around 100 guests.

How did you meet?

We met at the church we were married at.

What is your proposal story?

Nothing really special in writing but it’s special to me! We dated for 3 years. I told him I didn’t care what the ring looked like as long as I could marry him. He told me that he would propose to me when he found a ring in a Cracker Jack box. On March 16th, 2017 (my birthday) he took me to our favorite park and pulled a Cracker Jack box out of his camera bag. Got down on one knee and pulled the ring out of the Cracker Jack box.

Tell us about your wedding vision.

I wanted it to be simple and elegant. I loved the Navy and greenery look, but I added a Dusty Rose color with the bridesmaid dresses. Our wedding and reception took place in the church at which we met.

Tell us about your attire choices.

I wore my mother’s wedding dress and made my veil out of the material from her veil. Also, I wore a necklace and a ring from both my grandmothers that have passed on. I was a barefoot bride!

What was most important to you two while planning? Was there anything you chose to splurge on or skip?

Our splurge was our photographer. That was the most important thing for us. Pictures last forever and I wanted someone who could capture our day.

We skipped on a lot of things really. We didn’t have a DJ, we just asked a friend to play music, we didn’t do wedding favors, and we didn’t go crazy with decorations.

What were your favorite parts of the day?

Oh my goodness there are so many great memories from that day. Probably my favorite was driving to the church with my best friend/maid of honor. I was so excited for everything that was about to happen. That’s also when I realized I left Jason’s ring at the house and we had to send someone back to get it.

Another favorite was leaving the church after the ceremony and Casie pulled us aside to have a moment to ourselves. This was the sweetest moment between us just taking everything in and being with each other.

Tell us about your flowers.

Greenery, white roses, and some pinks for me and the girls.

Describe and handmade, DIY or personal items.

I made my mom, mother in law, and Jason’s grandmas a locket necklace with a piece of lace from my wedding dress in it.

My jewelry was all family heirlooms.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their wedding now?

Don’t get caught up in the details. Do the best you can and don’t stress about the rest. It can ruin the months before the wedding. If I had to do it all over again, I would have hired a wedding planner to take care of everything.
