Hi everyone! I’m Taylor and I can not even begin to describe how excited I am to be a blogger for one of my all time favorite blogs, The Budget Savvy Bride!

I am a reporter at a news station in Columbus, Georgia and my fiance Derek is a meteorologist at the same station. I am originally from Tennessee and moved to Columbus in September 2007. Derek and I began dating in October of that year and in December 2010 he asked me to be his wife. Photography is a big deal to me, so Derek planned to have a friend of ours take pictures as he asked me to marry him while looking at Christmas lights in Atlanta.

Since getting engaged I have been scouring the internet, books, and any other resources I can get my hands on to plan our perfect wedding! It is very important for us to have the entire celebration represent us, and what we love. Some of the key “themes” include vintage and handmade. We both have a love for “old things” and I am a HUGE crafter so we are trying to thrift, borrow, find and make everything we use in the wedding. This is also turning out to be a big money-saver for us as well.

Derek and I are getting married October 8th in my hometown and after getting a lot of the big decisions out of the way (venue, catering, photographer), we are now focusing on the small details, which happens to be my favorite part! I can’t wait to share with you more details about our wedding day and how we are making it all work.
