I am so grateful to the creators of Pinterest. Like many users, I’d been pinning inspiration for my imaginary wedding long before a proposal was in sight. Now that I am actually engaged, I have a more refined eye for styling and a good idea of what is best for me and Sherrod.
We have very similar style aesthetics, and I would reluctantly argue his style is more polished than my own. For our wedding, we’ve opted for a style that is modern and sophisticated, yet classic with a little glamour (for me). Our color palette consists of white, black, metallic silver, and blue-grey tones that venture from light to darker shades.
Using Pinterest, I’ve gathered a ton of images that represent our wedding style and color palette. Here they are:

This board will serve as the guide for the overall look and feel of my beer budget wedding. My sister agreed to help me come up with a recipe to turn beer into champagne. So far, I’ve got a few DIY projects to work on as we attempt this feat:
- At-Home Silk Screened Paper Suite
- Wedding Card Box
- Wedding Broom
- Aisle Décor
- and perhaps a Photo Booth Station (if I can’t find a killer deal to make it budget friendly)
For each project, I’ll be sure to include photos of my inspiration piece, step-by-step instructions with process candids, and final results. I’m certain I’ll add a few more small-scale things to this list, but we’ll see. I can’t wait to dig in…! Have you ever tried any of these projects?
