  • Rentals: $280

How many guests did you have?

We had close to 60 guests.

What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?

We both love the beach and luckily we leave in a city where sunsets are breathtaking, so we had our ceremony at one of our favorite places – Sunset beach, Treasure Island FL.

Did you do any DIY projects or create any handmade items for your weddings?

We did our own bamboo wedding arch for the beach ceremony, and we also did a photo backdrop with string lights.

What was the biggest thing you did to save money?

We decided to do our reception at our backyard, it turned out to be beautiful!

What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?

Start planning as soon as possible, try to get everything done at least a week before the big day.

What was your biggest splurge?

The flowers. I am so glad I ended spending a little bit more than I expected because they made our wedding reception so beautiful; each table had lanterns with flower arrangements, and everybody loved them!

What was your favorite detail?

One of my favorite details was the backyard string lights.

What is the most memorable moment of your day?

Our first dance, since we didn’t have a grand exit I decided to have our guests light up sparklers as we danced.
